The Walton Inter-District & Division Basketball Competition began at Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium on Thursday.
Secretary of Youth and Sports of Bangladesh Awami League Harunur Rashid inaugurated the basketball meet as the chief guest, while Senior Operative Director (Head of Games & Sports Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn was with him as the special guest.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Basketball Federation Lieutenant Commander (Retd) AK Sarker was present at the time.
In the day’s first match, Dhaka District team defeated Khulna District team by 71-48 points after completing the first half with 28-26 points lead.
In the day’s second match, Chittagong District team beat Rajshani Division team by 75-57 points after finishing the first half with 34-31 points lead.
In the day’s third match, Dhaka District team overcame Chandpur District team by 58-31 points. The winners led the first half by 34-13 points.
In the day’s fourth match, Rajshahi Division team overpowered Jessore District team by 56-31 points. The winners had a 37-13 points lead in the first session.
In the day’s fifth match, Khulna District team defeated Chandpur District team by 64-29 points. The victorious team led the first session by 36-19 points.
Today Dhaka District team will face Rajshahi Division team in the first semi-final, while Chittagong District team will meet Khulna District team in the second semi-final.
