Speakers at a function here Wednesday said the integrated efforts of all could prevent the ongoing terrorism, violence and sabotage of the miscreants on the Bogra-Rangpur Highway under Palashbari upazila of the district.
“Miscreants have become so much ferocious and desperate and are committing different crimes through vandalising and setting fire on vehicles on the highway of the upazila during the nonstop blockade programme enforced by BNP led 20-party alliance creating panic among the people”, they said.
They made the remarks while addressing a view exchange meeting on “Anti-Violence and Sabotage” organized by Palashbari thana police at Chowmatha area of the Palashbari upazila town.
Divisional inspector general (DIG) of police Humayun Kabir addressed the function as the chief guest and deputy commissioner M. Ehsan-e-Elahi, police super Mofazzel Hossain and district council administrator Advocate Syed Shams-ul-Alam Hiru were present as the special guests.
With UNO SM Mazhaurl Islam in the chair, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by general secretary of district AL Abu Bakar Siddique, central leader of Bangladesh Workers Party Aminul Islam Golap, president of upazila AL unit Tofazzal Hossain Prodhan and president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal upazila unit Nuruzzaman Prodhan and OC of the thana Mujibur Rahman.
The anti liberation forces are hatching conspiracy and have been conducting violence and terrorism on the roads and the highways of the country for the last few days in the name of blockade, the speakers said.
DIG Humayun Kabir in his speeches urged the people from all walks of life here to get united and help the law enforces to face the ongoing subversive activities strongly on the highway to ensure peaceful movement of the vehicles and to keep the properties and the lives of the people fully safe as well.
A large number of people from all sections including officials, politicians, social workers, local elite and journalists attended the function.
