Integrated action for dev urged

Rotary leaders on Thursday emphasised on integrated action from society stakeholders for building a peaceful, healthy and developed nation.
Besides, they have emphasised on taking coordinated measures for eradication of Polio from the country to build Bangladesh poverty, hunger and unemployment free country.
They were addressing a press conference organised by Rotary Club of Dhaka on a five day visit by the Rotary Foundation Chairman Paul A Netzel in Bangladesh in a city hotel.
Paul A Netzel was the chief guest while Rotary International District 3281 Bangladesh Governor FH Arif chaired the programme. Its President Jahural Ghani, past Governor KM Zainul Abedin, Professor M Hafizullah, Safina Rahman and TIM Nurul Kabir, among others, spoke on the programme.
Paul A Netzel appreciated Bangladesh Rotary Club contribution to the
development works and said Bangladesh achieved most of its development goals to eradicate Polio from the country.
“We are working to eradicate Polio from the world, whereas Nigeria, Afghanistan and Pakistan still have Polio,” said Paul A Netzel.
“We will need $1.2 billion to combat Polio threat globally and going to immunize less than five years of Children with Polio vaccine and then wait 36 months to laud that the World is Polio free,” Paul announced.
“Bangladesh should work integrated with the social development and peace keeping through poverty reduction, hunger eradication and establish as a resilient nation in the future,” Paul added.
In his five-day visit, Paul A Netzel had meeting with the Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury and Rotary Club Leaders to disseminate achievements of Rotary Club and future strategies.
FH Arif highlighting the Rotary club achievements said, in the history of 112 years history, we are working to serve humanity and have achieved the highest rating and Best Social Trust from Charity Navigator.
Rotary Foundation will organise a seminar today (Friday) at Le Meridien to motivate thousands of Rotary leaders of Bangladesh for future peace keeping and development initiatives.
