Institute of Kabaddi Jatrabari face Azad Sporting Club in the opening match of the Aarong Dairy Federation Cup Women Kabaddi Tournament at the Kabaddi Stadium today. The match starts at 3.00 pm.
DGM of Marketing of BRAC Dairy & Food Project Saifur Rahman will inaugurate the kabaddi meet as the chief guest while Vice-President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation Md Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Parvez will be with him as the special guest.
Dhaka Wanderers Club meet Dhaka District Sports Association in the day’s other match at the same venue.
Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation has organized the kabaddi meet while BRAC Dairy & Food Project is the sponsor of the competition.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk four lakh and fifty thousand while BRAC Dairy & Food Project will bear total expenditure of the competition.
A total of six teams splitting into two groups are competing in the kabaddi tournament.
Dhaka Wanderers Club, Narail District Sports Association, Dhaka District Sports Association are in Group A while Institute of Kabaddi Jatrabari, Azad Sporting Club, Faridpur District Sports Association are in Group B.
Top two teams from each group will play in the semi-finals.
The winners of the semi-finals will get tickets of the final, which will be held on September17.
The champions will be given Tk twenty thousand while the runners-up will be given Tk ten thousand as prize-money.
