The installation ceremony of the newly elected executive committee of Chattogram- bassed Newspaper Employees Welfare Society(NEWS) was held at Rima Convention Hall on Tuesday night.
City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin graced the occasion as chief guest. Editor of the popular Bengali dail y Dainik Azadi M.A Malek was the inaugurator of the inslattion programs. Editor of Dainik Karnaphuli Afsaruddin Ahmed chowdhury, Editor of Dainik Charrogram Bir Mancha Syed Omar Faruk, and Additional Deputy commissioner Md. Habibur Rahman were present on the occasion as special guests.
Among others, President of CUJ Nazimuddin Syamol, Bureau chief of Dainik Inquilab Shafiul Alam, Asstt. Editor of Dainik Azadi Morshedul Alam, Bureau Chief of Dainik Samakal Sarwar Sumon, Bureau Chief of Amader Samay Hamidullah, Divisional Chief of Desh TV Syed Alamgir Sabuj, Senior Reporter of Azadi Sabur Suba, Reporter Tapash Barua, Senior Reporter of Bangladesh Pratidin Saidul Islam. President of NEWS Nurul Huda presided over it. Besides, NEWS Advisor Abdus sukkur, former President Jashimuddin, former general secretary Nazrul Islam, former secretary Anowar Sadat Murad, Alamgir Haider, Tapas Nandi, Safaul Hoque Riaz, Rajib Nandi, Manzur Morshed, Aktar Kamal, Motaher Hossain, Islam Miah, Sudhir Patil, Arif Saifullah and Golam Mostafa spoke on the occasion.
Earlier MA Malek inaugurated the installastion ceremony by cutting ribbon where the incumbent and the immediate past executive committee members were present. In the program, 14 talent students have been awarded with honourarium and gifts. Before dinner, a brief cultural program was also arranged on the occasion.
