The launching ceremony of E-module on the code of conduct for the LGED was held at LGED Headquarters, Agargaon in the city yesterday. The programme was jointly orgainsed by LGED, USAID and UNOPS at LGED Headquarters, Agargaon in the city.
Additional Chief Engineer (Planning and Design) of LGED, Md. Khalilur Rahman, Project Director of Bangladesh Agriculture Infrastructure Development Project (BAIDP) Md. Jasim Uddin, Director of USAID Bangladesh Economic Growth Office Matt Curtis and UNOPS South Asia Director Francoise Jacob were also present on the occasion. It may be mentioned that the USAID Bangladesh and the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) are implementing the Bangladesh Agricultural Infrastructure Development Program (BAIDP) that aims to improve food security in the country through the construction of agricultural infrastructure. USAID Bangladesh partnered with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to provide technical assistance to LGED in line with its Capacity Development Plan (CDP) aimed at upgrading LGED’s operational capacities and performance to meet international standards.
Standards of ethical and professional conduct at all times and LGED’s drive for organizational excellence. “It is my belief that this e-module will help to ensure good governance in every level of LGED” says Shyama Prosad Adhikari, LGED Chief Engineer, and further states that “it is part of the commitment of LGED staff to the people from all levels”.
