An injured spotted and elderly female deer that escaped from the mouth of a tiger was sent back to Sundarbans of Eastern Division after it was given proper treatment by the forest department.
It is learnt from the forest department and some locals that on Thursday some ones found the injured deer in a garden belonging to one Dulal of village Badyamari under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district. It was groaning there due to injuries. Then they informed the forest department and the rescue party of the wild animals of the matter.
On information a rescue team of the forest department rushed to the spot and recovered the injured deer from there. They found marks of biting of teeth and scratch of claws of a Royal Bengal tiger were found on its head and neck where bacteria were formed. According to them, the elderly deer was injured by a tiger a few days ago.
Later the injured deer was taken to the Chandpai Forest Range Office under the Eastern Division of Sundarbans where it was given treatment by some forest guards who are well trained in the treatment of wild animals and when the deer was fully cured it was released in the deep forest of Sundarbans.
