In what comes as another big blow for the Indian team, Jasprit Bumrah is set to miss the fourth Test at Brisbane.
It is understood that the Indian team is not keen on risking Bumrah who has an abdominal strain, which could also be a tear. Bumrah had already shown visible signs of discomfort due to the stain during the second innings of the Sydney Test.
In addition to the concern over Bumrah, India will also be sweating over the fitness of Mayank Agarwal who was hit in the nets in Melbourne.
India are already without the sevices of Ravindra Jadeja, who has been ruled out due to a dislocated thumb. There will also be concern over Ravichandran Ashwin (back) and Hanuma Vihari (hamstring) who batted through pain during the final day of the Sydney Test.
Bumrah is the third Indian pacer after Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, to be injured during this series. India also lost the sevices of KL Rahul who was hit in ‘nets’ and subsequently forced to return home.
India’s pace reserves include Shardul Thakur and T Natarajan who had been included in the squad ahead of the Sydney Test.
