A Dhaka court issued injunction on holding the election of the executive committee of “Chandni Chawk Business Forum” scheduled to be held on September 24, 2019.
Judge of the senior assistant judge court-1 of Dhaka, Begum Kaniz Tania Rupa, passed the order on September 19 after hearing a civil petition filed by 20 businessmen, including Md Jabedur Rahman, of Chandni Chawk market.
A copy of the order was served on Sunday to Barrister Sanzid Siddiquee, a lawyer of the petitioners.
The election commission, formulated for holding the election of the executive committee of “Chandni Chawk Business Forum”, published the final voter list on September 4, 2019, for holding the election. Md Jabedur Rahman and 19 other businessmen’s name were excluded from the voter list.
In this situation they filed a civil petition seeking temporary injunction relining the defendant from organizing or holding the election to the executive committee of Chandni Chawk Business Forum scheduled on September 24.
