Initiative to preserve popular tales of CHT

Khagrachhari Ethnic Cultural Institute (KECI) has taken initiative to preserve popular tales, legends, and folklores of ethnic peoples in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) through publishing books.
It was disclosed at a discussion meeting in the town on Saturday. Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) Chairman Konjari Chakma attended the meeting as chief guest. He said all the popular tales in the CHT will be preserved for future generation; and these can be saved from extinction through collecting, collating and publishing.
He urged all to assist KECI from KHDC in preserving valuable and rich cultural events.
“Let the next generation know their traditional culture and heritage in CHT”, he added. Director of KECI Susomoy Chakma, Ex pro-VC of Jahangir Nagar University Dr. Afsar Ahmmed and noted writer Biprodash Barua also spoke on the occasion.
