Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif said initiative has taken to digitalize the land management system of the country.
“Work has begun to digitize the land management system …it is possible to modernize the land management system of Bangladesh in shortest possible time than any other countries in the world”, said the land minister as the chief guest on Tuesday while inaugurating a training programme on digital map printing machine at the Department of Land Record and Survey at Tejgaon in the city.
Land minister said process has begun to include the land related topics in the textbook curriculum, adding that faculty has already been opened in some universities to this end.
The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken firm initiative to rehabilitate the home and landless families of the country and initiative is progressing to this end, said the minister in his address.
The Department of Land Record and Survey has distributed digital Printing Press Machine to all the districts across the country.
The digital printing press machine will ensure preservation of digitalized mouza-map, reprinting and its quick delivery.
Later, the minister inaugurated the printing of digital land map of Pabna district. A total of 122 officials and employees of 61 districts took part in the training programme.
Chaired by Director General of the Department of Land Record and Survey Sheikh Abdul Ahad, the programme also was addressed, among others, by Director of the Department of Land Record and Survey Fayekuzzaman Chowdhury, Director (Survey) Anwar Hossen and Dhaka Zonal Settlement Officer Matin Ul Haq.
