A Public Information Center (PIC) on Nuclear Ishwardi was inaugurated marking the 3rd anniversary of ‘First Concrete Day of RNPP (Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant)’.
Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission’ and a non-profit organisation “Energy of the Future” will jointly operate the PIC, according to a message received here on Tuesday.
It said the PIC will help remove information barriers and provide the greater Pabna residents with an opportunity to get answers to their questions on the use of nuclear energy, features of the Rooppur NPP operation, radiation safety, social initiatives and activities such as RNPP job opportunities and other issues.
The ceremony was commenced at Ishwardi municipality office yesterday. Engineer Dr Md Abdus Salam inaugurated the operation of the information center.
Officials from BAEC, Ishwardi mayor Abul Kalam Azad Mintu and ANO Energy of the Future and AtomStroyExport (ASE) officials were present at the ceremony.
