Staff Reporter :Based on a false information, the police on Thursday night conducted a massive hunt in search of missing BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed in the remote char areas of Fulchhari upzila in Gaibandha district.Superintendent of Police at Gaibandha Ashraful Islam told The New Nation over telephone: “We have sent force to Fulchhari char areas based on a mobile phone call that Salauddin was spotted there. But it turned out to be a false information. None was there.” “We got a phone call from an unknown person in the afternoon that Salahuddin was kept in a house of a master [teacher] in the char land of Fulchhari. But no one was found there in the name of ‘master’ and there was no house as well at the described location. Now the phone is dead. After tracking the mobile ID, we have found that the call was made from Chittagong,” the SP said.
