More of law enforcers are being infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) everyday as 104 more caught the disease in the past 24 hours.
With this, the number of coronavirus-infected cops stood at 2,661 and deaths toll reache nine including another news case of Monday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases with 1097 personnel contracted the virus. Besides, a total of 410 police members, so far, recovered from the epidemic. Another member of the Bangladesh Police died from coronavirus in a city hospital on Monday (May 18).
The victim identified as SI Mojibur Rahman, 56, a member of Special Branch’s City SB Paltan Zone-1, died around 8:50am, while undergoing treatment at the Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital.
It is mentionable that on Monday the country recorded 1602 coronavirus patients, the biggest daily jump in infections, making the total 23,870, and 349 so far died from the virus.
