The DMCH officials said that miscreants stole the baby girl from her sleeping mother’s lap in a ward of the medicine department.
Md Jewel, the father of the baby, was admitted to the hospital with some health complications on October 31, while his wife Sajeda Begum along with her baby infant was also staying with him.
Last night, the family went to sleep after having their meals. At 12:30am, the couple realised that their baby girl was missing.
However, the DMCH authority has formed a probe body to investigate the incident.
“A three member probe body has been formed to discover the motives behind the incident and to arrest the culprits.
The committee has been told to submit the investigation report within three working days,” Dr. AKM Tarique, the Deputy Director of DMCH, said it to a group of Journalists.
