Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu is scheduled to leave for Egypt today (Sunday) morning for participating in the 5th Ministerial Meeting on D-8 Industrial Cooperation at the Egyptian capital Cairo.
The conference will begin on May 9 and it will end on May 11 with Cairo Declaration.
The Industries Minister will lead a three-member Bangladesh delegation in the conference.
The other two member of the delegation team are Senior Secretary of the Industries Ministry M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan and Deputy Secretary M Aminur Rahman.
Industries Ministers of other D-8 member countries also will participate in the conference.
Before the Ministerial meeting, a high profile meeting of the officials of the D-8 member countries will take place. Simultaneously, Task Force meeting based on 13-industrial sector also will be held. High officials of D-8 member countries along with representatives from different non-government industrial and commercial organizations will also take part in these meetings.
At the D-8 meeting, the Industries Minister will give emphasis on rising joint investment and technical cooperation among the D-8 member countries.
The Industries Minister during his visit to Egypt will hold a bilateral meeting with some ministers and high officials of the Egyptian government. He will exchange views with the leaders of different chambers and industrial merchants’ organizations in Egypt.
