Noted industrialists have lauded the role of Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programmes in Bangladesh (UCEP-Bangladesh) in producing skilled workforce for their employments in the local industries.
They made the opinion at concluding ceremony of the daylong Job Fair- 2016 arranged by Rangpur Regional UCEP Office on the UCEP Rangpur Technical School ground at Dharmodas area in the city under Job Placement Component on Tuesday evening.
Pran Group, Abul Khayer Group, Kazi Farms Group, Motahar Group of Injustices, Prime Sonic Group, RD Food Group, ‘Jem Jute Mills, Mazid and Sons Construction Farm, Evergreen Garments, Ansari Apparels, Women’s Fashion World Beauty Parlour, Badhua Beauty Parlour and other industries set up 14 stalls in the fair.High officials of more than 30 industries from Rangpur region and other parts of the country visited different stalls set up in the job fair.
With Rangpur Regional Manager of UCEP-Bangladesh Engineer Mohammad Golzar Hossain in the chair, Additional Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) Md Ziaul hafiz attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
Superintending Engineer of PWD Aminul Islam Khan and former President of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu were present as the special guests.
Engineer Mohammad Golzar Hossain narrated the UCEP’s activities in transforming underprivileged working children into skilled human resources by providing them with
technical and vocational education and training to meet demand of the local industries.
“The UCEP Rangpur Technical School has so far provided education and training on various trades to about 4,000 underprivileged working children since its inception in 2010 and 3,000 of them have attained self-reliance after getting jobs,” he said.
He sought continuous cooperation of industrialists, employers and business community leaders to further enhance activities of UCEP-Bangladesh in providing education and training to the underprivileged children to turn them into skilled workforces.
Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu called upon the UCEP authorities to develop more innovative programmes and produce skilled workforce for meeting the growing demand for skilled human resources in the local industries.
