Chittagong Metro police rounded up one noted industrialist , chairman of Nurjahan Group Jahir Ahmed centring the cheque defalcation .
He was arrested from his Khulsi residence on Thursday midnight , CMP sources said.
He was arrested following the cheque defalcation case of National Commerce Bank that filed before the court and the trial court issued arrest warrant recently.
Court sources said Nurjahan group borrowed loan oftk.55 crores from National commerce bank in the name of Marine Vegetable Oils Ltd of the Group and subsequently as a part payment of the loan , a cheque was deposited to Khatungonj branch which was dishonoured by the bank a number of times.
After non-responding of the legal notices of the Bank , bank authority filed a cheque defalcation case before the court against the chairman of the Nurjahan group, sources said.
