Business Desk :
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder on Tuesday said the country’s first industrial university will be established aiming to create skilled manpower to meet their growing demand in the industrial sector.
“It’ll make significant contributions to meeting the needs of skilled and trained manpower in the coming days,” he said while speaking at the inauguration session of an event on the Monipur High School and College premises at Mirpur here with College Principal Farhad Hossain in the chair, said a press release.
Majumder said efficient manpower is a must for development of the nation.
About coaching centre, he said: “The government is taking all-out efforts to stop the coaching system. But, the government initiative will be successful if the guardians can be free from the coaching dependency mentality”.
The state minister said students will be taught with compassion in the class, not in coaching centres. “No pressure should be applied on the students. Extra pressure on the students impedes their intellectual development”.
Children will have to have creative books in their hands for developing their full creative talents, he said, adding the opportunity to participate in the co-education programmes needs to be further expanded.
Majumder urged teachers and guardians to be always cautious about the students so that they could not engage in drug addiction and militancy.
A total of 48 educational institutions are participating the four-day event.
