Indo-Bangla ties now all-time best: Prabhu

Indian Minister of Commerce, Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday said Bangladesh-India relations were at their all-time best today and his country continues to attach the highest importance to its relations with Bangladesh.
“Both the countries are maintaining an excellent bilateral relations based on mutual trust and common interest,” he made the remark while addressing at a discussion on Bangladesh-India Trade Relations and Dinner at the Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed hosted the dinner in honour of the Indian Minister who arrived Dhaka on Monday is a four-day official visit.
“We share largest border, water, culture, language and share good practice and all these helped making a strong bilateral relations between the two countries,” said Suresh Prabhu.
The Indian Minister praised the rapid progress made by Bangladesh in achieving economic growth along with inclusive social development.
“Bangladesh has made unprecedented success in social and economic development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, which is rare in global history,” he said adding, ” Being a longstanding development partner of Bangladesh, India is India is fully committed to the country’s further economic development.
Suresh Prabhu also proposed to sign the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries to heighten further economic cooperation.
“We’re marinating an excellent bilateral relations and it will deepen further taking advantage of joint efforts made by both of our governments to share common economic goal,” said Tofail Ahmed.
