Entertainment Desk : Shongkhochil, a joint production of Bangladesh and India, has won the award for Best Bangla Film at the Indian National Film Awards.The announcement came at the ceremony of the 63rd National Film Awards held on Monday, March 28.The film, directed by Goutam Ghose, received one lakh rupees.Habibur Rahman Khan and Faridur Reza Sagar from Bangladesh and Prosenjit Chatterjee and Mou Roy Chowdhury from India have jointly produced the film.According to Habibur Rahman Khan, if a film gets a censor certificate by December in India, it becomes eligible for consideration at the National Film Awards.”It feels great to receive an award. I feel very good as it has been chosen as the best film. We hope that people of both Bangladesh and West Bengal will enjoy the film at the theatres,” he said.The story of the film narrates lives of people living in the border areas. Some part of the shooting has been done in Satkhira. Prominent actor of West Bengal Prosenjit Chatterjee and Bangladeshi actress Kusum Sikder will be seen in the lead roles. Sanjhbati, Dipankar De, Mamunur Rashid, Shahed Ali, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Riaz Mahmud, and Arindam Shil have been cast among others.The trailer of Shonkhochil was released on March 13, following one of its tracks “Abar Ashibo Firey” on YouTube.The song is the musical adaptation of Jibanananda Das’s poem Abar Ashibo Firey. Two Indian singers, Rupankar Bagchi and Antara Chowdhury, have lent voices for the song.Megastar Amitabh Bachchan won his fourth National award for Piku at the National Film Awards. Kangana Ranaut had her a second consecutive best actress win at the ceremony, while the top prize went to multilingual Baahubali. 73-year-old Bachchan won the best actor honour for his turn as a hypochondriac father in the road-trip family drama. He previously won the honour for Agneepath, Black and Paa.Ranaut, who turned 29 last week, was declared the winner for her endearing dual turn as Tanu, a troublesome wife and Haryanvi sportsperson Datto in romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
