Indigenous people demands restoration of tribal quota

Adivasi Quota Protection Committee, a student organisation of Indigenous people, brought out a procession demanding restoration of five per cent tribal quota in the first and second-class government jobs.
Around 70 indigenous people brought out a procession and proceeded toward the Prime Minister office from Raju Memorial Scripture near TSC of the Dhaka University on 11.00 am.
Police stopped the procession in front of the National Museum and protesters stayed there for 30 minutes.
Later, four representative of protesters went to the Prime Minister office to submit a memorandum of their demands.
After giving memorandum, Alik Mree, Member Secretary of Adibasi Quota Songrakhon Parishad, said, “we have given a memorandum to PM office. We will hold a demonstration on Friday in front of Raju Sculpture.”
