Film actress Pori Moni yesterday claimed that she was sexually harassed by Uttara Club Limited former President Nasir U Mahmud, his accomplice Tuhin Siddiqui Omi and several others on June 14 of last year.
Pori Moni said this while submitting her statements in the Women and Children Repression Prevention-9 of Dhaka on the occasion of framing charges against Nasir, Omi and their accomplice Shah Shahidul Alam in an attempt to rape and murder case.
She also told the tribunal that Nasir and others were directly involved with the incident and appealed to the court to
frame charges against the three in the case.During Tuesday’s hearing, defense lawyers told the tribunal that their clients were implicated in the case to harass them. Their clients should be relieved from the charges, they further said. During the hearing, Nasir and the two others, now on bail, were present in the courtroom.
Hearing the prosecution and the defense, Judge Md Hemayet Uddin of court fixed May 18 to pass order on whether to frame charges against the accused or not.
On September 6 last year, Mohammad Kamal Hossain, Inspector (Investigation) of Savar Model Police Station and also the Investigation Officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Dhaka.
Pori Moni lodged the attempt to rape and murder case against Nasir, also a real estate businessman and Presidium Member of the Jatiya Party, Omi and four unidentified people on June 14 of last year.
A team of detectives carried out raid at a house in Uttara Sector-1 and arrested Nasir and Omi on the same day. They were also shown arrested in another case filed with Airport Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act. They were earlier charged with a narcotics case after DB found their involvement in connection with possessing 1,000 pieces of Yaba pills.
