Indictment order in 4 M’bazar Razakars’ case on April 17

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 set April 17 for passing order on charge framing in crimes against humanity case against four alleged Razakars from Moulvibazar including Akmal Ali Talukder.
“The three-member tribunal set the date as prosecution and defence concluded hearing in the matter this morning,” prosecutor Sheikh Mushfeq Kabir told BSS.
Of the four, only Akmal is in custody and was produced before the court.
 The other three, Abdun Noor Talukder, Anis Miah and Mosabbir Miah are yet to be arrested.
“We have pleaded to frame two charges against them, one for killing 59 and raping six. We also have pleaded to frame second charge for killing two and torturing another one. The investigation officer has recorded testimony of 23 people, of which most are victims or eye witnesses,” Kabir added.
Advocate Abul Hasan, counsel for the three fugitives, meanwhile, submitted
discharge petition for his clients.
The prosecution had submitted formal charge in the case on May 30, 2016, and
on June 26 the tribunal took the charges into cognizance.
