The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Monday set May 7 to frame charges in the crimes against humanity case against four alleged Razakars from Moulvibazar.
“Yesterday was fixed for passing the order. But the Justice Anwarul Haque, chairman of the two-member panel of the ICT-1, reset the date as a member of tribunal was absent,” prosecutor Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon told BSS.
The four accused are Akmal Ali Talukder, Abdun Noor Talukder, Anis Miah and Mosabbir Miah. Of the four, only Talukder is in jail now.
Earlier on February 28, the prosecution and defence concluded their hearing on indictment.
“We have pleaded to frame two charges against them, one for killing 59 and raping six. We also have pleaded to frame second charge for killing two and torturing another one.
The investigation officer has recorded testimony of 23 people, of which most are victims or eye witnesses,” prosecutor Sheikh Mushfeq Kabir had told BSS on that day.
The prosecution had submitted formal charge in the case on May 30, 2016, and on June 26 the tribunal took the charges into cognizance.
