Indian National Women’s Cricket team earned an easy 16-run victory over Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket team in their first Twenty20 International match at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.
Electing to bat first, Indian Women scored 101 for the loss of one wicket in the stipulated 20 overs and then they dismissed Bangladesh Women for 85 off 20 overs.
Rumana Ahmed of Bangladesh notched up his team’s highest of 21 from 24 balls.
Besedes, Salma Khatun and Sanjida Islam added 50 runs each to the Bangladesh total.
SK Naidu of India captured four wickets at the cost of nine runs while G Sultana and J Goswami bagged a pair of wickets each instead of 11 and 14 runs respectively.
Besides, S Pandey took one wicket for 14 runs.
Earlier, India made a poor start losing their first wicket for just three runs.
Then M Raj and PG Raut added together 98 runs in the unbroken second wicket stand.
M Raj remained undefeated with 55. Her 64-ball knock was laced with four fours while PG Raut remained unbeaten with 42 from 46 balls with two fours.
Jahanara Alam of Bangladesh was the only bowler who got success. She took one wicket for 12 runs.
