Tirthankar Bhattacharyya, professor of the Department of Mathematics of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Friday at the latter’s office of the university.
He was accompanied by Dr MR Bhat, chief research scientist of the same institute.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes between the University of Dhaka and Indian Institute of Science.
The delegates expressed their willingness to provide scholarships to DU students for higher study at the institute.
Besides, they also agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two academic institutions in this regard soon.
