Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered smuggled Indian sarees worth about taka 25 lakhs and 11 thousands from the bordering areas between Bhorotpur and north Baromari under Durgapur upazila of Netrakona on Tuesday night.
BGB sources here said, a team of 13 members of 31 battalion of BGB, which were patrolling in the bordering areas, seized the smuggled Indian Sarees on the basis of a secret information.
However, the patrolling BGB team could not capture the smugglers as they managed to flee from the spot quickly after smelling the presence of BGB members, the sources said.
Meanwhile, BGB handed over the smuggled Indian Sarees to Netrakona customs office, the BGB sources added.
