The Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Monday celebrated the Republic Day at the New Chancery Complex, Baridhara in the city.
High Commissioner Pankaj Saran unfurled the national flag in the morning followed by the singing of their national anthem. The High Commissioner then read the President of India’s message. A cultural programme by the children of the Indian community was also held.
Indian nationals and their family members attended the celebrations. India celebrated its 66th Republic Day, showcasing before chief guest US President Barack Obama and the world a splendid display of its military might and cultural diversity.
Indian President Pranab Mukherjee extended warm greetings to all in India and abroad on the day.
