Professor Dr Kazi Sufior Rahman, Chairman of the Department of Islamic History and Culture of the University of Calcutta, India, on Monday called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office.
Associate Prof SM Mofizur Rahman of the Department of Islamic History and Culture of DU and Assistant Prof M Zakaria of the same Department were present on the occasion.
During the meeting they discussed possibilities of strengthening the on-going joint collaborative academic and research programmes conducted by DU and University of Calcutta.
Prof Arefin thanked the guest for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
