Indian monkeys have been disturbing the people of char areas at Nageswari upazila in Kurigram district for the last two weeks.
At least three persons were injured by hungry and angry monkeys and one monkey was captured.
Sources said, it is suspected that several monkeys came from forest of Assam Province of India and entered into Folimari Char under Bamondanga Union of Nageswari upazila territory crossing the border.
The monkeys are disturbing and attacking the people for the last two weeks. They enter into the kitchen room rapidly and eat rice, banana and other vegetables. The villagers do not dare to go near the monkeys due to fear of attack.
At last the villagers including Salam, Mohsin,Mozaffar and Lily Begum in a body captured a monkey and kept tied with rope. Three persons were also injured by monkeys.
