T Kumar, a veteran photojournalist working for United News of India (UNI), died by suicide at the agency’s Chennai bureau office after he was reportedly deprived of salary for 60 months.
The incident took place on February 14 when a colleague found Kumar unconscious on his desk at the office. On information, a police team went to the spot and took him to Kilpauk Government Medical College Hospital where the duty doctors pronounced him dead on
arrival, NDTV reported citing Press Trust of India (PTI). The body was handed over to his family on Monday after autopsy. Sources at the news outlet said Kumar (56), who joined UNI in 1986, had been facing financial trouble as the agency was not paying his dues for 60 months, according to the report.
