The Indian High Commission in Dhaka will organise a 13-day ‘Eid Visa Camp’ to accept tourist visa applications only from Bangladeshi nationals.
“The Indian High Commission is organizing the camp from June 4, 2016 for the first time as a special measure for Bangladeshi nationals who want to travel India during the upcoming Eid holidays,” an Indian High Commission press statement said here on Sunday.
According to the statement, visa applicants can submit their tourist visa applications on a walk-in basis without prior appointment dates or e-tokens at the ‘Eid Visa Camp’.
The camp will be held at the New Chancery Complex, High Commission of India, No. 1-3, UN Road, Baridhara in Dhaka and will be opened from 8am to 2pm from June 4 to June 16, except Friday June 10.
Applicants already having appointment dates must submit their visa applications as usual at any of the IVAC Centers in Gulshan, Dhanmondi, Uttara and Motijheel in Dhaka, and Barisal, Mymensingh and Khulna.
Medical, business and other visa categories will continue to be accepted at the respective IVAC Centers.
The camp is open for Bangladeshi nationals only currently residing in the Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Mymensingh Divisions. Applicants must submit applications in person.
However, family members (parents/children/spouses) travelling together can submit applications on behalf of their families.
Applicants should ensure that their passports are valid for at least months on the day of application and contain two empty pages.
A visa processing fee of Tk 600 will be charged by the Indian Visa Application Center, the outsourcing agency of the High Commission of India responsible for accepting visa applications. No visa fee will be charged apart from the visa processing fee.
The Indian High Commission has warned that there are no authorised agents or middlemen for issuance of visas. Applicants are advised not to pay any money to anyone, even though he promises facilitation of visas.
