Customs intelligence officials seized smuggled goods including Indian Sharee, Cigarette and cosmetics items in an abandoned condition inside several toilets of Dhaka-bound train ‘Maitree Express’ in Dorshona port of Chouadanga district on Saturday.
Director general of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Dr Moinul Khan said officials of the CIID conducted a search in the train when it reached Dorshana port from Kolkata at around 12:30 pm.
The smuggled goods, including 117 bails of Indian cloth, 1,025 pieces of sharees, 680 sets of three pieces, 125 peieces of panjabis, 10 kg cosmetics items and other items worth around Tk 1.50 crore, he added.
