Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will arrive in Dhaka on March 4 to finalise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sources said this on Tuesday.
According to sources, the Indian Foreign Minister will arrive in Dhaka on March 4 on a 24-hour long visit.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make a two-day visit to Bangladesh on March 26 next at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to join the country’s 50th anniversary of Independence Day, 50th year of Dhaka-New Delhi diplomatic ties, and Bangabandhu’s birth centenary celebrations.
A bilateral meeting between the two prime ministers will also be held on March 26 where several memorandums of undertsanding (MoUs) on energy, communications etc are likely to be signed.
Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will arrive in Dhaka to finalise those.
Earlier, a virtual summit between the two prime ministers was held on December 17 last.
Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen visited Delhi from January 27 to 31 ahead of Modi’s visit. He also had a meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla at that time.
Earlier, Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla arrived in Dhaka on August 18. At that time, he had a bilateral meeting with Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen.
During his visit, Dr S. Jaishankar will hold a meeting with Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen. He is likely to call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
