Indian fishing trawler seized by coastguard

An Indian fishing trawler named FB. Pita-Matar Ashirbad along with its 13 (Indian) fishermen was seized from the Bay of Bengal near the Fair Buoy by the members of Bangladesh coastguards at Thursday night (at about 10-30 pm) on the charge of illegal intrusion in the water territory of Bangladesh and catching fish from there.
It is learnt from a press release signed (on Friday) by Lt. Commander M Mamunur Rahman, Media Officer of the Coastguards of the Western Zone deployed Mongla that at the night while a contingent of the coastguards were discharging their normal petrol duties in the Bay of Bengal by the coastguards ship Swadhin Bangla found an Indian fishing trawler was catching fish illegally from the Bangladesh water territory near at Fair Buoy. But with the appearance of the coastguard-ship the fishing trawler tried to flee away. But the coastguards chased and seized it. The seized Indian fishing trawler along with its 13 Indian fishermen was handed over to Mongla PS by the coast guards on Friday noon for taking legal action.
