BGB personnel on Thursday night seized 6,528 kilograms of fish that was imported from India dodging customs duties. The fish worth Tk 78,33,600 was recovered from Chuknagar under Keshabpur upazila in Jessore at around 9:30 pm on Thursday, said Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain, commanding officer, 26 Border Guard Battalion.
The BGB CO told that the fish of different varieties were taken to Bangladesh through over invoicing to dodge taxes. ‘The fish was seized along with a truck bearing number Jessore- Ta-11-2382,’ he added, ‘it was handed over to Jessore customs.
