Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun has urged the Indian entrepreneurs, especially north-eastern states of India, to invest in Bangladesh, saying the country’s investment environment is the most liberal one in South Asia.
“Indian entrepreneurs can invest in Bangladesh’s different potential sectors as the country is providing all sorts of support to the investors,” he said while speaking as the special guest at the two-day ‘Bengal Business Conclave’ at the West Bengal of India on Wednesday, said a press release.
Chief Minister of the West Bengal Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the conclave as the chief guest while Finance, Industry, Trade and MSME affairs minister for the West Bengal government Dr Amit Mitro, among others, delivered speeches on the occasion.
Humayun said Bangladesh is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the country has achieved remarkable success in all socio-economic indicators.
“The export volume of the country has been increased to US40 billion in the fiscal 2018-19 which was $16 billion in the fiscal 2009-10. The country’s youth are playing significant roles in hi-tech and innovation,” he added.
