Indian Eid visa camp ends

The first-ever 12-day Eid visa camp, arranged by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, ended on Thursday sending a message to visa seekers that visa issue will no more remain a problem.
Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla termed the effort a “milestone event” in the Bangladesh-India relations
and mentioned that visa will not be a problem if anyone wants to visit India.
The visa camp began on June 4 and some 56,318 passports were deposited during the camp that ended on Thursday. The applicants will get one year multiple entry visa which will cover Eid, Diwali and the Christmas celebrations. High Commissioner Shringla thanked everyone and appreciated their efforts in making the ?ýEid Visa Camp a success.
Visa issue occupies a special place in Bangladesh-India relations and the latest effort will help further boost the Bangladesh-India relations, the High Commissioner hoped mentioning that the people-to-people contact is very important. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka issues the largest number of visas compared to any other Indian mission anywhere in the world.
