A four-member delegation led by Prof Dr A Ramanan of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Tuesday at the latter’s office of the university. Other members of the delegation were Prof. Naveen Garg, Shouribrata Chatterjee and Somnath Baidya Roy.
Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences of DU Prof Dr M Imdadul Hoque and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology Prof Dr Md. Hasanuzzaman were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs between the University of Dhaka and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. They also discussed the possibilities of introducing PhD program under the joint supervision of these two academic institutions.
The delegates expressed their willingness to provide fellowship to DU students for higher studies at Indian Institute of Technology.
Exchanges of teachers and students between the two institutions were also discussed in the meeting. They agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon.
