Member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian smuggled goods including 119 bottles of liquor and 131 cartons of cigarettes from a covered van on the Magura-Arpara road at Katakhali in sadar uapzila on Thursday.
BGB sources said a patrol team of BGB intercepted a Dhaka-bound covered van from Jessore in the area in the afternoon and seized 119 bottles of liquor and 131 cartons of cigarettes in the afternoon.
However, no one was arrested in this connection as the driver and helper of the vehicle managed to flee sensing the presence of the border guards. The seized goods were deposited to Chuadanga BGB headquarters.
