News Desk :
The Indian army has captured a Chinese soldier from eastern Ladakh, where the countries are locked in months long military standoff, Indian official sources said on Saturday.
A Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldier was captured as he “trespassed into the south side of Pangong lake in Line of Actual Control, the de facto border, early yesterday,” they said.
The PLA soldier is now being dealt with as per laid down procedures and circumstances under which he had crossed the LAC are being investigated, reports our New Delhi correspondent quoting the sources.
This is the second instance of a Chinese soldier being captured by India since October last year.
India and China have mobilised thousands of personnel and heavy weapons along the LAC since the eight-month long standoff.
