India wants fair poll in BD: Shringla

Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Thursday said that India wants a free and fair parliamentary election to maintain democracy in Bangladesh.
He said this while he was talking with journalists after visiting the Kumudini Complex in Mirzapur of Tangail district in the morning.
Shringla said that the government of India is cooperating to solve the Rohingya crisis.
“The government of India has built houses in Rakhine so that they (Rohingya) get shelter easily after their repatriation them from Bangladesh. That’s why we have a deal with Myanmar government. It will be resolved very soon,” he said.
Shringla also said that India is ready to work as a partner in the development of Bangladesh.
Replying a query, the Indian High Commissioner expressed hoped that the Teesta Agreement will be signed between India and Bangladesh soon as both the Prime Ministers gave commitment regarding it.
Regarding the border killing, he said that the incident has decreased considerably. We are working to bring it down to zero.
The Indian High Commissioner said, during the Liberation War in 1971, the Pakistanis carried out cruelty and brutal massacre in this country.
The Indian High Commissioner reached Kumudini Comlemix in the morning. Managing Director of Kumudini Welfare Trust Rajiv Prasad Saha, Director Shrimati Saha, Director (Education) Prativa Matsudi and Director Supa Saha welcomed him with flowers.
He went to visit the Bharateshwari Homes after visiting the Kumudini Library. He also enjoy the homes student’s display there.
