India will extradite Nur Hossain, the prime accused of Narayanganj seven murder case, while Bangladesh will also return ULFA leader Anup Chetia to India.This was disclosed by Home Secretary Mozammel Haque Khan to the newsmen after the first session of three-day Home Secretary-level talks between India and Bangladesh that began in Dhaka on Wednesday.Mozammel Haque Khan led the 13-member Bangladesh team while his counterpart Anil Goswami led the 14-member Indian delegation. “It’s not exchanging of prisoners,” Mozammel Haque told journalists.Mozammel Haque made it clear “There is no relation with the extradition of Nur Hossain for Anup Chetia. The two cases are different,” he said. He also said that both countries agreed to strengthen cooperation in counter-terror initiatives, curbing illegal cross-border movement of people and making the border more secure and peaceful.Nur Hossain, a councillor of Narayanganj City was arrested along with his two cooperation accomplices in Kolkata on June 14. He fled the country two days after the abduction of the seven people, including Narayanganj panel Mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Sarkar, on April 27.Six bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya three days later. The other body was recovered the next day.Nazrul’s father-in-law Shahidul Islam claimed that Nur Hossain and some others paid elite force Rapid Action Battalion Tk 6 crore to get Nazrul killed.Nazrul’s wife filed an abduction case against Nur on April 28.On the other hand, Chetia was arrested in Bangladesh in 1997 and is under detention on completion of his seven-year jail term for cross-border intrusion, carrying fake passports and illegally keeping foreign currencies. He has completed his prison term but is still being in jail in line with a Bangladeshi High Court directive given in August, 2003 to keep him in safe custody until the government made a decision on his plea seeking political asylum in Bangladesh.
