India piled up a massive 317 for the loss of six wickets in their innings against Bangladesh in the third and last ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday.
India made a modest start as Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, the two openers of India put on together 39 runs before Rohit Sharma (29) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Liton Das off Mustafizur Rahman.
Later, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli salvaged their team adding together 75 runs in the second wicket stand before Virat Kohli (25) was cleanly bowled by Shakib Al Hasan when India’s score was 114 for the loss of two wickets.
After dismissal of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni put on together 44 runs for the third wicket partnership before Shikhar Dhawan was caught at the short mid-wicket by Nasir Hossain off Mashrafe Bin Mortaza when India’s total was 158 for the loss of three wickets.
Shikhar Dhawan hit his team’s highest of 75. His 73-ball knock was laced with 10 fours.
It was Dhawan’s 14th ODI half century.
Then MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu contributed together 93 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Ambati Rayudu was caught behind by Liton Das off Mashrafe Bin Mortaza when the tourists score was 251 for the loss of four wickets.
MS Dhoni cracked a splendid 69. His 77-ball innings was ornamented with six fours and a six. It was Dhoni’s 59th ODI half century.
Rayudu hit a polished 44 from 49 balls featuring three fours.
MS Dhoni was caught at the deep mid-wicket by Mustafizir Rahman off Mashrafe Bin Mortaza when India’s score was 268 for the loss of five wickets.
Later, Suresh Raina and Stuart Binny added together 33 runs for the sixth wicket stand before Suresh Raina was bowled by Mustafizur Rahman when India’s total was 301 for the loss of six wickets.
Raina hit a quick-fire 38 from 21 balls featuring three fours and two sixes.
Stuart Binny and Axar Patel remained unbeaten with 17 and 10 runs respectively.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza grabbed three wickets at the cost of 76 runs while Mustafizur Rahman bagged a couple of wickets instead of 57 runs.
Besides, Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket for 33 runs.
