India made 336 for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 50 overs against Pakistan in their match of the ICC World Cup Cricket at Old Trafford in Manchester, England on Sunday.
In reply, Pakistan scored 43 for the loss of one wicket in 11.4 overs before submitting this report.
Fakhar Zaman was on 18, while Babar Azam was on 22 till filing this report. Eariler, India had a formidable start as openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma contributed together 136 runs in the opening stand before Rahul was caught at the cover by Babar Azam off Wahab Riaz.
Rohit Sharma hit a splendid 140. His 113-ball innings was studded with 14 fours and three sixes.
Rahul made 57 from 78 balls featuring three fours and two sixes.
After Rahul’s dismissal, Rohit and Viral Kohli added together 98 runs for the second wicket partnership before Rohit was caught at the short fine leg by Wahab Riaz off Hasan Ali when India’s total was 234 for the loss of two wickets.
After Rohit’s departure, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya built another notable partnership. They put on together 51 runs in the third wicket stand before Pandya (26) was caught at the long-on by Babar Azam off Mohammad Amir when India’s score was 285 for the loss of three wickets.
Virat Kohli hit a captain’s knock of 77. His 65-ball innings laced with seven fours. He was caught behind by Sarfaraz Ahmed off Mohammad Amir when India’s total was 314 for the loss of five wickets.
