Sports Reporter :Favourites India crushed United Arab Emirates by nine wickets in their last League match of the Asia Cup Twenty20 at the flood-lit Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday.Batting first UAE scored a paltry total of 81 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.In reply, India sailed home in 10.1 overs making 82 for the loss of one wicket. India made a good start as openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put on together 43 runs in the opening stand before Rohit Sharma was caught at the third-man by Mohammad Naveed off Qadeer Ahmed. Rohit Sharma was adjudged the Man of the Match.Rohit Sharma hit a sparkle 39 from 28 balls featuring seven fours and a sixer.Yuvraj Singh remained unbeaten with 25. He hit four fours and a sixer in his 14-ball innings. Shikhar Dhawan remained unbeaten with 16.Earlier, United Arab Emirates (UAE) lost their wickets in regular intervals. They failed to build any notable partnership. Earlier, second-down Shaiman Anwar fought back against the tight and controlled bowling attack of Indian bowlers.Shaiman Anwar notched up a marvelous 43. He hit three fours and a sixer in his 48-ball innings. Opener Rohan Mustafa was the other batsman of UAE who could reach double-digit figures scoring 11.Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged a couple of wickets at the cost of eight runs.Besides, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Hardik Pandya, Pawan Negi amd Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket each for 10, 11, 11, 16 and 23 runs respectively.
