Former champions India clinched the top slot in Pool A of the Beximco 4th Boys’ Under-18 Asia Cup Hockey-2016 crushing Oman by 11-0 goals in their 2nd match at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium here on Sunday afternoon.
India, who suffered 4-5 goals defeat against hosts Bangladesh in the opening match on Saturday, earned the top slot in three-team pool by virtue of better goal difference.
However, their position will go down if Bangladesh beat lowly Oman in the remaining match on Tuesday.
Pakistan smartly maintained the top slot in Pool B of the meet with all-win record beating China by 6-0 goals in their 2nd match at the same venue on Sunday afternoon.
Favourite Pakistan made a flying start in the tournament outplaying Chinese Taipei by 6-1 goals on Saturday.
