Stuart Binny and MM Sharma guided India to earn an easy 47-run win over Bangladesh in their second ODI match at the Shar-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Earlier, India registered an emphatic seven-wicket victory over the hosts in their first ODI at the same venue on June 15.
By virtue of yesterday’s victory, India clinched the ODI series 2-0 remaining with one match.
Sturat Binny claimed six wickets for just four runs with a good support of MM Sharma, who captured four wickets instead of 22 runs. Stuart Binny was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.
The match was curtailed due to rain and was fixed as 41-over-a-side.
Sent into bat first, India were bundled out for a fragile 105 off 25.3 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh were shot out for just 58 runs in 17.4 overs.
Bangladesh batsmen played callously and threw their wickets helplessly. Thus the Tigers conceded defeat in a low-scoring game.
Debutante Mithun Ali was the only batsman for Bangladesh who fought back making 26 from 39 balls including five fours.
Earlier, debutante right-arm medium fast bowler Taskin Ahmed bowled extremely well and finished his spell as 8-0-28-5.
India failed to make any notable partnership and lost their wickets in regular intervals.
Skipper Suresh Raina was his team’s highest scorer. He hit 27 from 23 balls with three boundaries.
Besides, RV Uthappa and CA Pujara were the other batsmen of India who reached the double digit figures scoring 14 and 11 runs respectively.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza bagged a pair of wickets at the cost of 35 runs while Shakib Al Hasan and Al-Amin Hossain took one wicket each for eight and 26 runs respectively.
Tomorrow Bangladesh will face India in the third and last ODI at the same venue. The match begins at 1.00 pm.
