India Under-19 Cricket team beat visiting Bangladesh Under-19 team by 82 runs in the double league basis tri-nation Youth ODI tournament opener at Jadavpur University Complex, Kolkata on Friday.
Bangladesh’s young Tigers opened their innings for an easy target of 159 to win, but were forced to bundle out for a meager 76 runs in 22 overs.
Bangladesh bowlers successfully restricted the Indians, who batted first after winning the toss, at 158 for all in 45.3 overs.
Washington Sundar and Zeeshan Ansari scored 34 runs each while Anmolpreet Singh (28) and Avesh Khan (not out 25) were the other double figure scorers for India.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz grabbed three wickets for 31 runs in 10 overs. Abdul Halim and Saleh Ahmed Shawon took two wickets each for 24 and 26 runs respectively in 7 and 10 overs.
Opening the bat, Bangladesh lost their five top order batsmen for 26 runs in 7.5 overs.
Except Shafiul Hayet (26) and Saeed Sarkar (13), there were no double digit contributors for Bangladesh.
Avesh Khan grabbed 4 wickets for economic 4 runs in 6 overs while Zeeshan Ansari and Kanishk Seth took 2 wickets each for 1 and 45 runs respectively in 2 and 8 overs.
